Reach is peak.

I loved all the mainline Halo’s, and I agree they went towards CoD with load outs and sprint, but that didn’t really happen til 4. Reach used AAs and loadouts, sure, but weapon selection was pretty homogenous, loadouts were premade in public multiplayer, and AAs were tuned well and added to the Halo experience.

Who? Who would hate Reach?

My ONLY criticism is how they used muli maps in single player. It was obviously to speed up development so they could move on from MS sooner. Overall though this was around when Halo started to feel too competitive and I wasn't having as much fun but it's still a legendary entry. The single player and Firefight was so good.

Chief even had merch and products of him sold to children and adults included in many cities, confirmed. Until O.N.I tried to stop those markets because they made false information on him.

Halo reach was great AND the maps were bland. Both can be true

Security is such an amazing armor design. I may not use the helmet, but I love the look of it and I use the shoulders for how big and cool they are.

Halo reaches sandbox could have used some work and the bloom was annoying but some of the best times I still hop in and have fun, I just wish there were some more fire fight maps like headlong Zanzibar Valhalla boneyard spire etc

Ngl bloom on the DMR is completely balanced and if anything made it harder to use in closer range then long range which was probably the intended result to begin with. Reach is honestly a master piece outside of lore and just pure nostalgia 1/2/3 really were terrible mechanically and I feel Reach’s mechanics are what halo was meant to evolve into if bungie would’ve kept the IP

Bloom wasnt an issue at range, it made sense to have to time your shots and they would hit no problem. But at close range it introduced an RNG factor where you have a chance at spamming and hitting all 5 of your shots or having one miss and you lose the fight. When it comes to FPS games, to me, RNG is a huge turn off. I like even playing fields and fighting for map control. With bloom RNG, both players can have perfect aim, but one can choose to chance the 5 shot spam and win with less TimeToKill. After the title update and bloom was removed from most gametypes, reach became a faster game with zero randomness, back to being all skill. Still an amazing game and an amazing time. My mom surprised me when I got home from school on release day, she went and picked up my pre order 💙 I was never more hyped for a game.

The Halo cycle does make its point. Reach got a lot of heat back in the day and is now considered one of the peak Halo experiences. I really enjoyed it. Local Reach LAN parties were the way to have fun back then.
